Return to Memes has become one of the most recognizable phrases on Crypto Twitter, often used to describe the renewed focus on meme tokens across the Solana ecosystem.
RTM was created by Elchef, a well known bullposter and bagworker. On June 27, he reflected on the project's journey, saying its first run allowed him to quit his Amazon job and pursue content creation full time. After the hype faded, he returned to working part time while continuing to stream every day without missing a day.
The phrase became even more common after Ansem started regularly posting about memes and Solana. Many of his recent posts have included "Return to Memes."
On July 2, Ansem shared another post featuring the phrase alongside a list of meme tokens, Crypto Twitter personalities, and traders.
More accounts have since started using the phrase. Shah included it in a post about meme tokens, while Billboard displayed it on one of its billboards.
RTM launched on February 16, 2025 and reached an all time high of $4.59M on June 28 as more accounts began using the "Return to Memes" phrase.
